The CARe TEAM is a Santa Cruz County Public Health Program dedicated to serving people living with HIV. It provides medical case management, social work Case Management, education, referral, advocacy, and more.


Community Health Van
Wednesdays 2:30-4:30pm at the Mobile Van
Del Sol Market, Union & Riverside, Watsonville

Thursdays 3-5pm at the Mobile Van
Laundromat at Barson & Bixby, Santa Cruz

The Community Health Van offers confidential HIV testing as well as help accessing resources in the county: medical services, shelters, drug treatment options, hepatitis testing and vaccines, Medi-Cal, Medi-Cruz, STD testing, etc.


Drop-In Center

HIV Testing: Tuesdays and Wednesdays 3-6:15 pm

The Drop-In Center is a community based resource for persons at risk or infected with HIV and all those who are affected by AIDS. The Drop-In Center reaches out to individual at highest risk for HIV and those who have the least access to resources. For more information, please call or stop by.


Needle Exchange

Needle exchange sites operate seven days a week and aims to provide education and other forms of support for safer drug use. Services are free, confidential and anonymous. Our workers are specially trained to provide skilled, risk reduction counseling which includes healthcare and social service referrals. We treat our program participants with dignity and respect. We do not try to force any behavior changes upon our program participants; instead, we work to empower individuals to improve their health and the health of their communities. The Santa Cruz AIDS Project serves men, women and children who are HIV positive living in Santa Cruz County. Our mission is to promote and participate in a comprehensive and compassionate response to HIV and AIDS through education, advocacy, and supportive services. All care services are free, confidential and offered within a non-judgmental environment. Care services include case management, access to medical care, financial assistance, food bank, volunteer support, support groups, and pro bono professional support services.
